The Carnegie Carnegie celebrates its 116th anniversary with an evening of some of the regions finest jazz musicians.
Described as being one of the most dynamic, soulful, entertaining vocalists on the jazz scene today, Donna Bailey brings a sophisticated, coolness to jazz standards, as well as to her own compositions. Her vocal interpretations and engaging personality have earned her accolades and loyal audiences. Dr. Nelson Harrison of the Pittsburgh Jazz Network describes her as a delight! There are many singers on the scene today, but very few can light up a room like Donna Bailey. Thats personality thats entertainment.
Donna performed for the legendary Dave Brubeck at the Manchester Craftsmens Guild in honor of his 86th birthday, and in 2014 was inducted into Pittsburghs Jazz Hall of Fame.
Donnas May 5th playlist includes selections by Cole Porter, Willie Nelson, Henry Mancini, Sammy Cahn/Gene DePaul as well as her own compositions. She is proud to be joined for this concert by jazz greats Mike Tomaro on Sax, Joe DeFazio on Piano, Jason Hollar on Bass and Gordon Grottenhaler on Percussion.
