STAND! Songs of Resistance and Unity
Big sound, big soul! Brian Tate and the always-exuberant City Soul Choir invite you to an evening of songs of civil rights, protest and praise, perseverance, heart, soul and joy. The programme will feature Canadian songwriters (Russell Wallace, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, Brian Tate), along with soulful tunes by Sly and the Family Stone, the recently passed Sharon Jones (of the Dap Kings), a South African freedom song, a Sufi song that yearns for divine beauty, and more. Together let's celebrate civility, unity and joy (don't let anybody steal your joy!), and resist hate, fear and division. With Michael Creber piano, Adam Rohrlick guitar, Brent Gubbels bass, and Craig Scott drums.
$30 Regular $25 Students and Seniors 60+ Special: buy 6 or more tickets for $25 each (concession price)
Kids 10 and under free. (If you are bringing children, please be respectful of the performance and other audience members; take crying or noisy children to the foyer or outside until they've settled. Also, if the venue is full, children may need to sit on laps. Thank you for your courtesy!)
