The seventh annual HEAR NOW Music Festival brings you music by the great composers living and working in Los Angeles including:  Friday evening electroacoustic concert in collaboration with PIE, Saturday evening chamber concert in collaboration with LACO, and Sunday afternoon chamber concert.  Many of Los Angeles' leading performers take part in HEAR NOW which spotlights the wealth of musical imagination in our city.  Purchase the FESTIVAL PASS for great savings on all three concerts!

A tribute to Jeffrey Kahane, LACO Music Director and Conductor
for having consistently commissioned and programmed pieces by living Los Angeles composers during his tenure with the orchestra. Maestro Kahane participates as special guest pianist in Gabriel Kahane's "Works on Paper." Several works are by composers commissioned by LACO during his 20 years as Music Director.

Flash, electric currents, poetry, cultural shifts, staying alive, unease, a speaking cellist, interconnectedness -- words the composers use to describe their pieces in this concert. Works by Mark Weiser, Evan Beigel, Juhi Bansal, Saad Haddad, Michael Lee, Xavier Muzik, Hugh Levick, Sean Heim. With the fearless Lyris Quartet, Cecelia Tran, Joanne Pearce Martin, Vicki Ray and many other of our outstanding Los Angeles musicians performing.
