SustainABLE Festival for Teachers
Teachers are invited to attend the SustainABLE Festival at the Fleet Science Center, courtesy of the Teacher Partner Program.
By registering for this free event, you agree to sign up for the Teacher Partner Program.
What is the Teacher Partner Program? The Fleet Science Center loves teachers! The Teacher Partner Program offers free admission to the Fleet Science Center on the day of the SustainABLE Festival, plus:
- Unlimited individual gallery admission throughout the year
- One free IMAX film admission
- A $10 discount on a new family membership
- A 15% discount on purchases in the North Star Science Store
- An invitation to our annual Open House event
- A complimentary subscription to our monthly Educator E-News

The Teacher Partner Program is a one-time signup. If you are currently participating in this program, you do not need to sign up again through this page. Instead, you are ready to attend on April 15 -- or any other day that you may wish to visit!
What is the SustainABLE Festival? The SustainABLE Festival highlights the three pillars of sustainability: healthy people, healthy communities, and healthy environments through hands-on science demonstrations created by the National Informal STEM Education Network. Learn about the efforts of different organizations in San Diego County to help us all create a more sustainable region.
Schedule of Events:
- 10 a.m to 6 p.m.
Hands-on demos in the Main Gallery and the Theater Lobby.
- Session 1: 11:30 a.m.
Session 2: 12:30 p.m. Presentation & Discussion in the Tinkering Studio with artist Ruth Wallen and Dr. Richard Somerville from the "Weather on Steroids" exhibition and the La Jolla Historical Society.
- 2 to 4:30 p.m.
Fusing Plastics in the Tinkering Studio
Teachers are welcome to enter the Fleet Science Center at any time during business hours and may take part in any of the events.
We welcome non-teachers to purchase tickets through our website (rhfleet.org) or day-of at the Fleet Box Office.
Please Note: To be eligible for the Teacher Partner Program, you must be a K12 teacher working within a 200-mile radius of the Fleet Science Center. Contact information and school or union ID or a recent pay stub are required to join and must be presented at the box office Will Call window.
