Cora Values' Miracle at the Gas 'N' Gulp
At a time of the year when folks are praying for a miracle, holiday hash-slinger Cora Values is serving them up like hotcakes from inside the Gas 'N' Gulp out on I-19! Each night of MIRACLE AT THE GAS 'N' GULP, your wish is Cora's command-- and with the help of her specially blessed jar of Miracle Whip, she'll be whipping up three brand-new miracles, based on the audience's most secret yearnings!
MIRACLE AT THE GAS 'N' GULP is an evening of flocked-up festivity, featuring big-rig Magi, an onstage Virgin Birth, and a guest Guiding Star nightly! Immaculate conceptions abound, but there's nothing "preconceived" about Cora's story-telling--she's spinning spontaneous yarns sweet enough to swaddle a Savior. It's where all the wise men and women will go!
Cora's sack is stuffed with songs and scandals from her hometown of Rectal, Texas--learn of her Solstice adventure with Burned-Up Walter, and hear a custom-crafted 5&10 story, with words contributed by her most dedicated Regulars.
From the creators of last year's celebrated hit "Cora's Christmas Corral" comes an all new "fuelside yuletide", an evening of premium performances (we also have unleaded!) and glorious redemption. Craft projects and raffle prizes ensure that no-one leaves without at least a minor miracle in tow. Mix 'n' mingle with the Rectal Regulars--after one cup of Cora's coffee, you'll be a Regular too!
MIRACLE AT THE GAS 'N' GULP is a holiday-themed evening of baked-fresh comedic storytelling from truck stop diner hostess, Cora Values (the drag alter-ego of playwright/performer Sean Owens). When you arrive, Cora welcomes you as a regular of the Gas 'N' Gulp and proud citizen of Rectal, TX.
MIRACLE runs December 18 - 19, 2012, Tuesday and Wednesday at 8pm at StageWerx, 446 Valencia @ 16th, SF.
Sit In Cora's Section! Reserve your premium stage-level tables (seats up to four patrons), complete with front-row seats, four complimentary drink tickets and endless, unsolicited attention. Be a co-author-- by booking a table online, you are guaranteed first opportunity to contribute a word or phrase to Cora's custom-crafted 5&10 story to be read at the show! (Tables are $100 each; only five table offered per show.)
MIRACLE features Sean Owens as Cora Values, Don Seaver as Emmett Cornpike, and a special celebrity guest star.

ABOUT SEAN OWENS: Sean has written over 35 short and full-length plays, ranging from the deliriously daft to the deliciously dark. In 2006, he was named "SF's Best Comic Playwright" by the SF Weekly, and has enjoyed a decade-long partnership with the EXIT Theatre, co-founders of the NY Frigid Festival. "Naught But Pirates" earned him an Audience Choice Award at FRIGID NY in 2008. Sean has also graced stages on both coasts with his solo show "Girlesque" (with longtime composer Don Seaver) and in Liz Duffy Adam's off-Broadway run of "WET", as the Viscountess Marlene. He is currently part of the Resident Playwrights' Program with PlayGround, at Berkeley Rep.
ABOUT CORA VALUES and THE GAS 'N' GULP: Cora Values is an expert in hospitality, heart and humor. She purchased the Gas 'N' Gulp from pie maven Queenie Powers with her first, third and fifth husband, Zeke Plummett, and delights in force-feeding the denizens of Rectal, and the hungry truckers that travel the 63 miles of interstate known at the I-19, between Rectal, TX and the sleepy border town of Nopales, Mexico (affectionately known as "Our Nation's Back Door.") Cora became famous for her 5&10 stories-- custom-crafted ten-sentence stories, created using five words generously contributed by her nightly regulars. She's never met a face she doesn't recognize, and is always happy to remind folks of their unique place within the Gas 'N' Gulp legacy.
Rectal, TX started life as an aborted freeway turn-off, and now features some of the finest services available for yards around. Park your RV in the local trailer park, Hitchin' Your Giddyup, or just park your carcass in the 2-star luxury splendor of the Slumberjack Inn, run by 104-year-old Tweeter Tools calendar model, Gibby Verve. Seniors and holiday fanatics can both rejoice in Santa's Retirement Village, where the inhabitants believe each morning is Christmas Day. Rectal, TX, and the town's beauty parlor, The Last Chance Salon, were also immortalized by SF playwright Sean Owens in his docu-comedy Stale Magnolias.
