Ten Thousand Things' production of Electra
Everwood Farmstead Foundation concludes its 6th season of the Artist Series with Ten Thousand Things' production of Electra on Saturday, October 7th.
Ten Thousand Things invigorates ancient tales, classic stories, and contemporary plays through vital, open interactions between actors and audiences. And they bring their award-winning, high-quality professional theater to people with little access to the arts. The company performs for free at homeless shelters, correctional facilities, low-income senior centers, reservations, after-school programs, and women's shelters - any place where they can reach people who do not have easy access to the arts. They also perform for paying audiences, typically in Minneapolis.
TTT doesn't use a stage; rather, they perform on the floor inside a circle of chairs, with the lights on so everyone can see each other, with minimal sets and live music. The result is a performance that engages the audience's imagination. Everwood's Pay-What-You-Can ticket price is simple-choose your ticket price from the list above. One-half of your ticket price will be provided to the artists and the other half will be distributed through Everwood's Aspiring Artists Fund. The Fund allows arts-focused teachers in Barron, Dunn, Pepin, Pierce, Polk and St. Croix counties to let us know about exciting projects that need support so their students can flourish. We'll reveal the recipient(s) at each performance. Since 2010, Everwood has donated almost $15,000 to local school programs.
