Thalea String Quartet
Formed in 2014 at the Zephyr International Chamber Festival, the Thalea String Quartet has been praised for their vibrant performance and sincere expressivity (SF Classical Voice). The quartet has performed recitals in Italy, France, the United States, and Canada. And it was recently appointed the first quartet in residence at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. They made their debut at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. in early 2016 and were named one of the Top 10 Bay Are Quartets You Should Know by CultureTrip.com. The Quartet has been featured on KDFCs The State of the Arts and have performed on the KALW program Revolutions per Minute, hosted by pianist Sarah Cahill. They will be performing quartets by Mozart, Cowell, and Beethoven.
Performers are Christopher Whitley and Kumiko Sakamoto, violins; Luis Bellorin, viola; Bridget Pasker, cello.
