Cole Carr and the Family Band
About Cole Carr
Cole was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. Growing up in a family of working musicians, he picked up the guitar, piano, harmonica, and bass from immersion. He eventually drifted to the singer/songwriter genre and began writing his own music in high school, where he released his first album, Evergreen, at 19 years old; exploring themes of love, loss, and nature. After enjoying his time playing in the Pacific-Northwest-Inspired Alternative Rock band Cascadian Drift and releasing an album under the same name, he went on to form his own band. Luckily, friends and family stepped up to the plate; Tony Carr (Cole's father) playing the lead electric guitar and lap steel, Cameryn Carr (Cole's sister) on the electric piano, Daniel Cecil (Cole's close family friend) on bass, and Manny Keller (another close family friend) on drums; creating a tight, professional band drawing from influences like Jackson Browne, Crosby Stills & Nash, Joni Mitchell, and Neil Young; while exploring the creation of a new, Pacific Northwest-inspired genre, in an attempt to regain musicianship in a computerized world.
