A spirited Checovian romp through a large extended familys final summer spent at the family estate in East Hampton, Henry Jagloms engaging dramedy of manners boasts splendid performance by a large ensemble of gifted actors. Due to recent money troubles, Helena Mora, the head of an eccentric theatre family and renowned acting teacher, gathers family and longtime friends around her to share this last summer before she sells her sprawling property, engaging one more time in dramatic performances. But bringing everyone together creates rivalries and tension, especially with for Oona, a temperamental but successful movie actress who seeks the approval of her creative peers.
