NutcrackOr "Highlights Showcase & Reception"
On December 1, 8pm @ Dance Mission Theater, 3316 24th Street - directly off the 24th St. BART station, Man Dance Company will present their NutcrackOr "Highlights Showcase"! This event will be a 1-hour Donor-exclusive presentation followed by 1-hour Wine & hors d'oeuvres reception with our Star Studded Cast. There are only 100 seats available. The "Highlights Showcase" will be a preview of the re-imagined Holiday classic that MDC will Premiere in December 2013. The story will take place in the mid 70's in the heart of the Castro. It will focus on young Fritz and his sister Clara, who look into Harvey Milk's camera shop and become inspired by his photos. As they sleep beneath their Fathers' Christmas tree, that night, their Uncle magically turns them into young adults and reunites them with their beloved Doll. Together, they take a timeless journey to visit several inspiring individuals like Melek Taus, the Male Peacock Angel of the Kurdish Minority, and the Mayan Flower Goddess of gender-variance, Xochipilli. The NutcrackOr "Sneak Preview" will also be a partial Aids benefit in honor of World Aids Day.
