An Evening with Esa-Pekka Salonen and The Lyris Quartet
Please join us for this unique event to be held at the William Turner Gallery at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica.
Sunday, April 9 at 7:00 pm
Los Angeles' own Esa-Pekka Salonen, Conductor Laureate of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, currently the Principal Conductor and Artistic Advisor for Londons Philharmonia Orchestra, and Artistic Director and cofounder of the annual Baltic Sea Festival, will be joined by the fabulous and fearless Lyris Quartet, quartet-in-residence for the Hear Now Music Festival, in a brief program of string quartet works by Los Angeles composers. Hugh Levick, artistic director of HEAR NOW will interview Mr. Salonen and open up the discussion for questions from the audience in the intimate surroundings of the magnificent WIlliam Turner Gallery.
Wine and hors d'oeuvre will begin at 7:00, and the program follows at around 7:45. A catered reception follows the program.
The proceeds of this event will benefit the annual HEAR NOW Music Festival which recognizes and presents new music by contemporary Los Angeles composers. This year the festival will be held from Friday through Sunday, April 28, 29, and 30 and includes a well-deserved tribute to outgoing LA Chamber Orchestra Music Director and Conductor, Jeffrey Kahane who will perform at the festival.
Your RSVP is your donation which reserves your place at this special, not-to-be-missed event!
