Cologne Collegium Musicum Chorus and The Albany Consort
Choir conductor Michael Ostrzyga and Consort harpsichordist Jonathan Salzedo started discussing this possibility a year ago and are excited as the dates draw close. Please join us for one of these concerts.
The Cologne University Chamber Choir brings together students and alumni. They perform throughout Germany and have given TV appearances, toured Prague, Milan, New York and Boston, and provided the sound track for a documentary film about John Calvin. Michael Ostrzga also conducts Cologne University's other major ensembles, and is a composer, pianist and international guest conductor.
The Albany Consort was founded in London in 1974, and has been a fixture of Bay Area music making since 1982. The group enjoys a refreshing "what if ..." approach to performing old music. This season's program also includes a Handel Festival production with San Francisco's Black Box Baroque. Jonathan Salzedo started the group when he finished college, and is amazed that 500 concerts later he has not run of ideas that he wants to try out with other willing musicians.
