Jazz at the Chimes - Vocalist Andrea Claburn
A concert celebrating the tour de force debut album from jazz vocalist/composer/arranger Andrea Claburn. Nightshade is a stunning recording project (Dee Dee McNeil) from a rising diva with something new to say (Chris Spector, Midwest Record). From swing to second-line to Ska, Nightshade captures Andreas eclectic sensibilities and original musical vision while remaining squarely in the jazz idiom. Featuring an all-star lineup of Bay Area players including Matt Clark (piano), Sam Bevan (bass), Alan Hall (drums), Terrence Brewer (guitar), Erik Jekabson (trumpet & flugelhorn), and John Santos (percussion), the songs are wide-ranging and adventurous, with five original compositions that may very well become standards of their own someday. (Mike Jurkovic, Elmore Magazine)
This concert is part of the Jazz at the Chimes series held at the stunning Julia Morgan Chapel of the Chimes, an historical landmark building. This intimate space seats about 160 in linear pews.
Tickets may also be available at the door (cash only), based on availability. On site box office opens at 12:30.
