Poor Beasts In The Rain
A Story of Lost Dreams and Lingering Heartaches
The Connecticut Irish Theater Troupe Presents Poor Beast in the Rain
Written by Billy Roche, Directed by Karl Ryan
Roches play, from his critically acclaimed Wexford Trilogy, brings us a chapter in the lives of six characters in a small Wexford town. Their highly predictable lives are up-ended by the return of the towns folk hero after a decades absence. Difficult memories are resurrected and even more difficult decisions about the future must be made.
Dublin born Karl Ryan, well known and long respected as an exceptional actor in local Irish drama circles, will make his directorial debut with this production, bringing his cerebral understanding of Irish social interaction to a very talented and experienced group of actors.
Poor Beast in the Rain asks the age old question of whether history is destined to repeat itself. As the answer unfolds, the audience is witness to a story at times poignant, at times hilarious, but always enjoyable and entertaining.
