Brahms Piano Sonata op. 5, No. 3 in F minor
Guest artist Esther Yune concludes the 2016-2017 season with a program that pushes the piano and performer to their limits. Ich ruf zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ, originally a church cantata by Bach, was adapted by Busoni from SATB chorus for solo piano. The second piece explores a theme with 20 variations. The program culminates with Brahmss largest single composition for solo piano The Sonata in f minor.
