Kalpulli KetzalCoatlicue & Chinelos San Pablo Aposto
Kalpulli Ketzal Coatlicue is a Kalpulli ("learning community") of Indigenous people joined together by the tradition of Aztec dance. The main focus of the kalpulli (learning community) is to conserve and share the cultural teachings of the ancestors, with dance being one of the essential pieces. KetzalCoatlicue pursues this spiritual, mental, and physical vocation with music from the sacred drum, conch shells, seeds, and other instruments gifted by the natural environment.
Event tickets: $5/person, children 12 and under free!
Chinelos San Pablo Apostol practice the traditional dance that is native to the Morelos people and the people south of mexico city. The dancers bright, flowing costumes and stylized masks are usually found during religious celebrations and events for the Morelos in Minnesota.
