Event
Celebrate Water 2017
On June 15, 2017, the Center for Environmental Law & Policy (CELP) will host its annual Celebrate Water event to commemorate another successful year of CELP's work in Washington State and present the Ralph W. Johnson Award to John Osborn. John Osborn's many invaluable contributions to CELP's work and Washington's waters have had a lasting effect on watersheds around the state. His outstanding leadership efforts in advocating for the renegotiation and modernization of the Columbia River Treaty have urged top international policymakers to include ecological considerations and remedy historic injustices against tribes and First Nations.
Pre-reception CLE workshop, 4-5 pm "Mitigation of Domestic Water Use: Requirements and Practical Experience" Speakers: Larry Wasserman, Environmental Policy Director, Swinomish Indian Tribal Community Dan Von Seggern, Staff Attorney, CELP
The Center for Environmental Law & Policy is a statewide organization whose mission is to protect, preserve and restore Washingtons waters through education, policy reform, agency advocacy, and public interest litigation. Indeed, with climate change reducing our glaciers and threatening our groundwater supply and a growing population spurring more development, water is becoming increasingly scarce in Washington. That shortage makes CELP's work of promoting sustainable use of our water resources more imperative than ever. We hope you can join us on June 15, and raise much-needed funds for CELP's important work in Washington!
