Join Tenleytown Huddle (2017 Women's March) and Expert Sharon Gang for training in basic skills for effective communication with elected representatives on Capitol Hill---in person, by telephone and via email. This interactive session combines an overview of the legislative process with effective strategies to share info with lawmakers, meet with Hill staff and ensure your message is heard. The format is designed for DC-area residents able to visit Capitol offices. Community members and other Huddle Group members are warmly welcome to join. 2-5 pm.
Sharon Gang has worked on Capitol Hill for most of her professional career and served three Members of Congress (Ohio, Hawaii). As a legislative policy analyst and chief of staff, Sharon gained expertise in both citizen and corporate lobbying. Most recently, she served as communications manager for the Architect of the Capitol, responsible for US Capitol buildings and grounds. This non-partisan post gave Sharon inside knowledge of the Capitols function as both seat of the legislative branch and history museum. She also served as deputy communications director for DC Mayor Anthony A. Williams.
