"From the Top" by Subject:Matter
"From The Top" is an evening length work that explores alienation, contrast, and the relationship between the part and whole. The work follows 6 dancers as they explore a wide variety of music from Fela Kuti to The Chordettes. This exciting, dynamic evening is not to be missed
"From the Top is a study in contrasts: of volume, attack, timing and music, which ranges from recorded free jazz and jazz funk to oldie pop songs. It is classic rhythm tap in the sense that the performers' personalities shine through, in their faces and bodies and general tactics of rhythm making. Spontaneous, unpredictable... It is alive." -Chicago Tribune
