Ms. Vorwick was an avid environmentalist and practically single-handedly saved Pouch Camp. An avid conservationist Ms. Vorwick tied herself to the largest tree in Staten Island to stop bulldozers from widening Old Town Road. She and Dr. Fox served on the Greenbelt Conservancy Board of Directors. Dr. Fox said Kathy celebrated her final birthday in hospice and this hymn was my birthday gift to her, and added, Kathy was a very spiritual person, so I wrote a hymn-like piece as a tribute to her. This is the world premiere of My Hymn for Kathy. Dr. Fox earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from New York College of Podiatric Medicine and his Bachelor of Arts from College of Liberal Arts (Music / Organic Chemistry), Syracuse University. His principal instrument is the bassoon. He studied composition under Dr. Earl George and has been awarded.
