A Jewish Love Song: Music of Romance, Family & Spirit
Seattle Jewish Chorales Spring concert represents perhaps the greatest variety of choral repertoire ever performed by the choir. The music ranges from songs written in the late Renaissance, such as Salamone Rossis Correte Amanti to music written this very year, such as Jacob Finkles Az Yashir Moshe without skipping any musical time period in between. Indeed, our concert includes such disparate musical styles as Renaissance madrigals, Baroque oratorio choruses, Romantic anthems, modern works, and even Jazz pieces. Similarly, our singers will be performing in five distinct languages, these being Hebrew, English, Yiddish, Italian, and Ladino. More musically complex works such as Jane Roman Pitts Kumi Lach, George Frideric Handels He is My God, and Isadore Freeds A Woman of Valor serve to show the impressive musical growth the Chorale has recently accomplished.
