Julio Lemos - Brazilian Guitar Concert & Workshop

More about Julio Lemos:
Julio Lemos started his studies at age of thirteen, he studied with renowned musicians such as Lula Galvão, Genil Castro, Marcos Tardelli ,Marco Pereira, Rogério Caetano, Nelson Faria, Henrique Pinto and João Luiz. Lemos had also private lessons with Arnaldo Freire and Fabiano Chagas in Goiânia. He holds a graduation in classic guitar from UFG and was guided by Dr. Werner Aguiar. During the year of 2009, Julio Lemos also had private lessons about the harmony in brazilian popular music with Alencar 7 cordas. He performed recitals as a solo performer and played in chamber music groups. Julio Lemos also performed in Brazil and abroad featuring concerts in Portugal, Spain, French, Germany and United States. His repertoire ranges the works of highlighted composers such as Villa Lobos, Radames Ganattali, Garoto, Guinga, Baden Powel, Astor Piazzola, Marco Pereira and his own songs. In Parallel of the activities as a solo performer he has been playing since 2006 as sideman comping groups of tradicinal brazilian popular genres such as Choro, Samba and Bossa Nova. He also contributed in 2009 with the choro esemble of the UFG and performed in several academics events and in several associated projects of UFG. Julio Lemos integrates the group Brasil in Trio together with the musicians Diego Amaral and Everton Luiz both with academic background in the undergrated and graduated programs of UFG. The Trio establishes focus in several genres of the brazilian instrumental music such as Choro, Baião, Maracatu, Bossa Nova and Samba. Currently the group have been performing the repertoire composed by Alessandro Branco. He has a duo with the harmonicist Gabriel Grossi, and a duo with the percussionist Celsinho Silva, and with these duos he played several shows. He is one of the integrants of the group Quarteto Pixinga, that resealsed it first CD in 2015, with readings of old compositions of the choro repertoire, from the beginning of choro.
Julio is also a coodinator of the followings associated projects of UFG: Orchestra of Guitars of UFG, Quarteto Pixinga and Brasil in Trio. Julio Lemos holds a master degree from UFG and has played either as a classical musician as a popular musician. He used to offer workshops abroad Brasil, with Brazilian guitar classes about sevem string guitar, in choro and samba style, in other countries such as Argentina, at Buenos Aires in 2014, and around Europe, Madrid at Spain and Évora at Portugal in 2015. He also work as a researcher and permanent teacher at Universidade Federal de Goiás. Recorded his first Dvd with Brasil in Trio, in 2016 with the special guests Marco Pereira and Gabriel Grossi and is currently working on the recording of the first solo CD with his own songs, that must be released in 2017.
