Broomfield Symphony - Movie Matinee
The BSO will be performing music to the Buster Keaton classic silent movie "The General." The opener will be "What's Up at the Symphony" (i.e. Bugs Bunny's Greatest Hits). Seating is general admission.
"The General" is a silent movie released in 1926. The movie initially was not well-received and didn't do well at the box office, but now it is considered to be one of the greatest American films ever made. It was inspired by an event that occurred during the Civil War called the Great Locomotive Chase. This event was related in a memoir written by William Pittenger, and the movie was adapted from that story. Keaton performed many dangerous stunts for the movie and also co-directed it.
