Nick Schnebelen Band
Upstage presents this world-class award winning Bluesman at the intimate Disco Bay Detour in Discovery Bay, WA, on Saturday April 1st. Nick Schnebelen has quickly built a reputation as a killer, over-the-top, lead guitar player and impassioned vocalist. He's won the Albert King Award for "Best Guitarist." As founding member of the award winning family band Trampled Under Foot (TUF), Nick has traveled the world playing festivals such as Notodden, Montreal, and as fan favorites on the annual Legendary Blues Cruise. The siblings still perform re-union shows as Trampled Under Foot.
Today Nick tours world-wide with his own band, bringing his raw blues energy guitar and vocals, backed by a hot rock n blues band. It's a chance to hear a performance master in an almost house concert atmosphere. Disco Bay Detour is a 30 person venue with two separate shows, at 5pm (for those who prefer daylight driving) and 7:30pm. Nick starts his show solo playing guitar and dobro. You'll hear a bluesman with traditional chops followed by the full rockin' trio.
In 2008 Trampled Under Foot (TUF) won the International Blues Competition and Nick won The Albert King Award for Best Guitarist. Shortly thereafter Nick and his family band recorded two great blues releases with Tony Braunagel producing (Taj Mahal, Robert Cray). "Badlands" debuted #1 on Billboard and won Best Contemporary Blues Album at the Blues Music Awards in 2014. Today, Nick is again working with Tony Braunagel for Nicks album to be released this year.
Nick has blues in his blood. His parents played music full time in the Kansas City blues scene. Their house became a jam space for his parents Lisa Swedlund and Robert Schnebelens popular blues band, Little Eva & The Works. Today Nick continues that tradition as he travels world-wide with his own band. Look for even greater success for Nick in the coming months and his 2017 album release.
