LEONARD BERNSTEIN AT 100: A Jewish Musical Celebration of the Bernstein Centennial
A celebration of the life and music of Leonard Bernstein, the most outstanding composer, conductor, and pianist of the twentieth century. Throughout the world, orchestras, choruses, opera companies, and universities are commemorating the Bernstein Centennial. Our tribute will emphasize Maestro Bernsteins Jewish compositions that reveal his ongoing exploration of his Jewish faith, education, identity, and Jewish values.
Soloists will be Hazzanim Sandy Bernstein (Elkins Park, PA), Eliot Vogel (Narberth, PA) and Jeffrey Weber (Elkins Park, PA), Cantors Amy Levy (Elkins Park, PA) and Elena Zarkh (Abington, PA), and Ms. Rebecca Schwartz (Elkins Park, PA). They will be accompanied by 60 voices from the choirs of the Old York Road Synagogues (Elkins Park, PA), the Chorus of the Cantors Assemblys Delaware Valley Region, and an instrumental ensemble.
