"Quartet for the End of Time" by French composer Olivier Messiaen
It was composed in 1941 while Mr. Messiaen was a prisoner in a Nazi POW camp.
The work is very intense - it is a musical depiction of the apocalypse, as described in the Bible's Book of Revelation.
