Modern Vaudeville is an ongoing comedy, variety, and talk show that features the Twin Cities top performers, with a wink to the past. Our final show of the season in April features comedian Rox Tarrant, circus-balancers Two Defy Gravity, musician Garry G, and as always, is hosted by Midwest Emmy Award Winning Comedian/Magician David Harris. Marrissa Dorshner and Cade Holmseth make up 2 Defy Gravity a circus balancing and performance duo founded in St. Paul in 2009. Since then, Two Defy has performed at venues and events all across the state of Minnesota. With a combined total of over 40 years of experience in circus and dance, 2 Defy Gravity brings strength and beauty together with danger and awe in a way most people only dream to experience. In addition to performing, Marissa and Cade are full time teachers of the ariel arts. For more, visit www.2defygravity.com or visit Facebook 2 Defy Gravity. Twin Cities comedian and comedy producer Rox Tarrant, who recently celebrated 20 years in comedy, will appear on the bill. In June 1995, Rox made her debut in stand up and immediately became a finalist in the coveted Twin Cities Funniest Person Contest. Since then, Rox has performed all across the Upper Midwest and even appeared in Las Vegas. But winning the Duluth Comedy Festival in 2009 secured her a spot as one of Minnesota's favorite comedians. She has also garnered respect by producing shows for Louie Anderson, Jeff Cesario, Diane Ford and others over her impressive career in comedy. Multi-instrumentalist Garry G. will round out the lineup. Garry G is a 28 year old Minneapolis born producer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and DJ. His sound ranges from classic 80s Minneapolis Sound Electro Funk anthems to provocative Future R&B dance floor bangers. He seamlessly fuses lush synths and infectious melodies with slick guitar licks, huge basses and funky drums. Garry G knows how to get people moving on the dance floor. Just ask the crowd at Minneapoliss premiere R&B dance party NIGHTCHAIN where he is a resident DJ. You will often find him spinning a unique blend of Disco, Soul, Future R&B, Nu House and Hip hop remixes with an electric guitar, keytar or bass strapped around his shoulder adding smooth accents and breaks in the music. If you haven't seen him out DJing you may have seen him at an outdoor music festival or on tour playing bass in the nationally acclaimed Soul/Rock band Black Diet or internationally acclaimed Garage/Punk band What Tyrants. Garry Gs debut EP will be released in Spring 2017 About Host David Harris: David Harris is a Midwest Emmy award winning comedian/magician who has performed across the U.S. and Canada for over 20 years.
