Jazz piano legend Darrell Grant leads a trio of headlining artists performing alongside BRAVO students in a concert celebrating the music that unites us across cultural and national boundaries.
Mexico: The vivacious singer/songwriter and guitarist Edna Vazquez leads off with traditional and cutting-edge Latino music rooted in her Mexican heritage, including favorites from her recent recordings: "El Dolor Que Fue Para Mi", "Psicodélica", and "Sana".
Canada: The boundless energy of fiddle virtuoso Lisa Ornstein will have you dancing in your seat as she shares gems from the rich heritage of French-Canadian traditional music. A highlight will be the virtuosic "Petit Concerto pour Carignan" by André Gagnon.
America: Darrell Grant has a truly international reputation in the world of jazz. He has created original arrangements of spirituals, blues, and popular tunes especially for our BRAVO students to play with him in this concert.
This concert will also include brief testimony by BRAVO students and staff.
