Backyard Pharmacy: Culinary Herbs and Wild Plants as First Aid & Medicine with Georganne Geo Derick Giordano of Geo's Joy Herbal Medicine!
The practice of medicine is rooted in the use of plants, which dominated our U.S. Pharmacopoeia until World War II. The natural chemicals, which protect the plants from their external pathogens and predators, are effective & protective in animal and human bodies as well. We will explore some common culinary herbs and backyard plants to use as first aid, to mitigate illness and to promote health and vitality. Included will be scientific research supporting current first aid and medicinal uses. Known therapeutic doses and drug interactions will be highlighted. A plant walk will follow the presentation!
