Rick Merrill Lecturer and Close-up Performer
Rick Merrill is just hitting his stride. A magician and comedian, Rick Merrill, holds the title of World Champion Close-Up Magic. Crowned in 2006 at the World Championships of Magic in Stockholm, Sweden he has since become a featured performer at the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood and performed in person and on television in more than a dozen different countries. Most recently, he filmed his first US television appearance on a special for FOX-TV, to be aired in early 2009.
Born and raised in Michigan, Rick took up magic at the age of 9 and quickly became fascinated with the branch of magic known as sleight-of-hand. Sleight of Hand is regarded by magicians as one of the most difficult genres in magic. Rick was drawn to it because it allows him to create the appearance of magic using just his hands, his wits, and a few simple props. For his first audience his family those props were playing cards. Needless to say, after 10 years of picking just one more card, Ricks family was thrilled when his assortment of props grew to include more than just cards.
It was 2003 when Rick first began to develop the magic act that would eventually take him around the world. By 2004, Rick had won the top prize at national conventions of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and the Society of American Magicians, the two largest and oldest magic organizations in North America. In addition to 1st Place, Rick brought home awards in Originality and Comedy. The biggest compliment, however, may have been the Peoples Choice distinction awarded to him at both conventions.
After this national success, Rick prepared to walk onto the international stage. In 2006, Rick represented the United States at the World Championships of Magic in Stockholm, Sweden. Hosted by FISM (The Fédération Internationale des Sociétés Magiques or the International Federation of Magic Societies), this event occurs every three years to select the best-of-the-best in the world of magic. When the dust settled, Rick was crowned World Champion in Close-Up Magic and became only the 4th American to win this award in the 60 year history of the event.
The breakthrough in Sweden led to additional opportunities in the international arena. He has performed in France, Belgium, Spain, England, Italy, Russia, Japan, Sweden, Canada, Korea, and Portugal with other countries lined up in the coming year. In the near future, Rick will perform his award-winning act in Beijing, China.
Ron Jaxon Lecturer and Close-up Performer
Ron Jaxon, from Kalamazoo Michigan, has won numerous magic competitions in both stage, and close-up magic. His combination of visually stunning magic combined with comedy has earned him the reputation as one of the areas leading magicians. In his late teens Ron became completely deaf and remained deaf for almost 20 years. In 2009, with the help of a Cochlear Implant, Ron regained his ability to hear again. Even though for the last few years Ron has been able to re-experience the wonderful world of sound, he stays committed to his efforts to present his performances in a manner that is mindful of his beginnings and challenges others to overcome obstacles in their lives through his magic!
Trino Stage Performer and MC
Trinos award winning show features contemporary magic, hilarious comedy and lots of audience participation that is sure to have something for everyone. With a unique style, Trino has helped bring magic up to date by using a combination of popular music, comedy, and theatrics. See why Gene Simmons of KISS called him Incredible.
Trino is currently a student at Central Michigan University and will be graduating in May 2017 with a degree in Event Management and a double minor in Hospitality and Leadership.
Jonathon LaChance Stage and Close-up Performer
Jonathon LaChance is one of the youngest magicians currently amazing audiences across the state of Michigan today. With his upbeat Comedy Illusion Show Jonathon is credited to many accomplishments from performing on the NBC Today Show, Headline Act During Magic In Lapeer, 2015 Curly Close-up classic winner, and being a returning act to many resorts and events across the state for the past 6 years.
At the age of ten his father showed him a card trick and at that moment Jonathon fell in love with the art of magic. His family soon found themselves watching mini magic shows in the living room and taking weekend trips to visit the local magic store for more books to read and magic tricks.
Jonathon still finds time to hit the books in-between shows and after graduating high school in 2014 from South Lyon High School. He began to attend school at Washtenaw Community College with future plans of transferring to Eastern Michigan University in Criminal Justice / Law Enforcement and a minor in Business and Marketing.
Jesse Shira Close-up Performer and MC
Coming off his starring role in the feature film Drama Class, Jesse Shira is back and better than ever (at least he hopes so). At age 20 the actor/magician will be your Master of Ceremonies for the 2017 Michigan Magic Day Close-Up Show. He has been performing magic practically his entire life, and has received multiple accolades, including being a two time IBM Ring 211 excellence in magic recipient, the winner of the 2012 Bob and Judie Kramer Stage Variety Contest, and being told good job by a hot girl at the mall (even though she gave him a fake phone number). When not performing, Jesse can be found watching old sitcoms in his parents basement, contemplating the big questions like Apple Jacks or Lucky Charms or being rejected by a countless number of women. We dont know what shenanigans Jesse has in store, but one thing is certain, it will be worth what we are paying him, absolutely nothing.
Brad Lancaster Stage Performer

Maciek Stage Performer
Maciek was born and raised in Poland behind the Iron Curtain. He had the opportunity to try different professions before magic. He discovered he had a natural gift of magic and entertaining people. Once his destination and vision was clear, he created out of nothing, the very successful breakthrough known as Maciek's Magic Show.
Maciek has performed literally thousands of shows under any imaginable conditions and in every type of venue.
He has been nationally recognized as the first Grand Prize Winner of AMC's original TV series Showville and crowned by the Holland community signifying his achievement and voted the city's Favorite Performer. Maciek leaves a lasting positive impression and inspiration anywhere he performs!
