Jenna Mammina and Rolf Sturm: A House Concert
Jenna Mammina, from the San Francisco Bay area, will meet up with New York guitarist Rolf Sturm for a couple hours of sweet jazzy interpretations of their favorite tunes from a multitude of sources and genres.
Jenna and Rolf first met in NYC in 1995 at a rehearsal for a rock orchestra called Illuminati, focused on the music of the Grateful Dead. Jenna & Rolf spent three years together touring with Illuminati and appeared on three of the bands recordings. During this time, they talked about putting a duo together. someday. Time passed. In January of 2014 they decided that someday had arrived. Jenna returned to New York in June, they played their first gig together in 18 years, and went into the recording studio the next day. The recording, entitled Spark, was released in 2015 and is still receiving nationwide radio play. The two have been touring almost every month since. Their new CD, Begin To Dance, is out now.
If you dont know Jennas music, you can check her out on YouTube and hear samples of Begin to Dance at http://waterstreetmusic.org/jenna-mammina-rolf-sturm/.
The magical time and date is 7:00pm, Saturday March 25. Only thirty tickets will be sold at $25 each, advance only, from brownpapertickets.com.
