Presentation and Tour:
At 140,000 square feet, plus underground parking, the Center for Science and Technology is a LEED Certifiable building integrating green technology throughout its structure. Adhering to a strict architectural campus design, the building is respectful in its integration to the Chapman campus, while also introducing much needed parking facilities and campus services.

Learning Objectives:

*Attendees will learn about the architectural history of Chapman University

*Attendees will learn about green design techniques in this LEED Certifiable building

*Attendees will discuss the challenges of ADA accessibility in higher education buildings

*Attendees will tour the site and see how sustainable materials
are integrated into the building construction

Ken Murai is the Director of Campus Design at Chapman University. Prior to joining the University, he had over 20 years experience at LPA, a national collaborative design firm where he designed numerous award winning projects and managed several Higher Education projects through construction administration. Since joining the University, Ken has designed and overseen a number of building and renovation projects, including adaptive reuse of historic structures on campus. He is responsible for the overall design of the built environment including master planning, exterior and interior design, signage, and landscaping for the University.
