Depot Folk: The Mammals feat. Mike & Ruthy
Day Two of Depot Folk belongs to The Mammals (feat. Mike & Ruthy) on Saturday, April 8. Mike Merenda and Ruthy Ungar, a husband-and-wife duo, are skilled multi instrumentalists, singers and songwriters with excellent taste: Their cover of Richard Thompsons 1952 Vincent Black Lightning is a longtime favorite. Veterans of the festival circuit, they've toured the country while maintaining their ties to the Hudson Valley, where they live near Kingston. In 2013 they founded the Summer and Winter Hoot, a pair of annual music festivals benefiting the Ashokan Center. Pete Seeger described the Hoot as "One of the best song-gatherings I've seen in all my 94 years." Mike and Ruthy will lead a vocal harmony workshop in the afternoon and, as The Mammals, perform in the evening.
Depot Folk is presented in partnership with the American Center for Folk Music.
Greg's Good Eats Food Truck will be at the Landing All Night Long.
This event will be Open Seating.
