Soap Box Mini Books with Bel Mills

You have a wealth of book making materials passing through your home every day, often ending up in the trash or recycling. In a continuation of her upcycling series, book artist Bel Mills shows you how to turn a common soap box into a small, hardcover book with a cloth-covered spine and contrast stitching. Students will fill their books with sketch paper, notebook paper, graph paper, or any desired combination. These books are not only fun to make, but easy to carry around for jotting reminders or creating small sketches. A variety of basic book binding techniques will be covered in the class, including how to properly fold signatures, glue paper and book cloth, and create a linked pamphlet stitch. Both novice and intermediate book makers welcome.
