Jess Robinson - Impressive
Bath welcomes back the wonderfully talented Jess Robinson, who returned from performing her latest show 'Impressive' with her incredible live band at Edinburgh Fringe with some amazing 5* reviews and another award under her belt.
'Impressive' features well OVER 100 impressions, 99 of which are packed into one 4 minute rap - 'I got 99 voices but a bloke ain't one'. As well as the Kim Kardashians, Nicola Sturgeons and Mary Berrys, Jess treats you to spot on singing impressions from classic vintage stars, such as Judy Garland and an astoundingly uncanny Billie Holiday, to today's global pop divas, including Beyoncé, Paloma Faith and Nicki Minaj, travelling via Kate Bush and a spine-tingling Amy Winehouse.
With her fresh take on mimicry, cheeky wit and sharp stand up, Jess shares her hilariously tragic and heartbreakingly funny adventures during her whirlwind of a year, since leaving her spouse of just 18 months following last year's Edinburgh festival. From joining a gang to joining the circus, to nearly causing a plane to make an unscheduled landing.
So party with Jess, her awesome band and a truckload of celebrities as Robinson celebrates her newfound freedom since divorcing 'Practice Husband'. But now she has her freedom, what should she do with it?
"This show was an absolute delight...I would thoroughly recommend getting a ticket if any are still available" ***** One4Review "Robinson's performance was perfection. Incredible...Inspiring...Impressive" ***** Arts Award Voice
"It's hard to envisage a world in which Jess Robinson will not be a star" **** Chortle
"A star is born. The vocal gymnastics reach a crescendo with a show-stopper as breathless for Robinson as it is breathtaking for us" **** Metro
"A stunning voice, [Jess} is an incredibly talented impersonator and mixes this with a cheeky wry personality that makes you want to pop her in your pocket and take her home for tea" ***** Edinburgh Evening News "Robinson exceeds expectations, managing to perfectly impersonate both the mannerisms and voices of so many well known women. She delivers side-splitting comedy, mesmerising storytelling, sensational music and a good helping of improv... [Her} fast-paced approach entertains the audience from beginning to end" ***** Edinburgh Festival Magazine
