St Pats Day, Jeremiah Johnson
Jeremiah Johnsons superior song writing; backed up by his incredibly sexy voice, and fantastic fret work, demonstrate his three dimensional ability to provide music that virtually anyone can appreciate young or old Rocker Blues Man Jazz Man or Country Sh*t kicker, JJ Grinds out a down Home feel good rhythm that touches Home. JJ works hard every day. He Grinds out an "Honest Forty" for the Man, and still finds time to continuously produce a fantastic resume of titles, and play gigs throughout the week. His music is capable of topping the charts... Jeremiah is a true Rock'n Blues & Roots Man of the highest order. The only thing better than having The Jeremiah Johnson Band spilling out of your speakers, is going out and watching these guys LIVE. ~Bob Molinary, St. Charles, MO
Born and grown in St. Louis, Jeremiah spent 10 years seasoning his style on the Gulf Coast of Texas and then came home to lay down some dirty, rockin' blues. Now 5 albums into his music career, he has created a sound all his own. Nobody does blues like the JJB because it's not just blues. There is no genre for this music, you just have to hear it and feel it to understand.
Honors and achievements include being first place finalist of the Houston, Texas Regional Blues Challenge sponsored by The Houston Blues Society in 2004, 2005 and 2006. In 2011, the were the proud winners of the St. Louis Blues Society IBC Challenge and went on to the semi finals to represent St. Louis in Memphis, Tennessee. Sirius XM's B.B. Kings Bluesville picked up JJB in 2012 where they can still be heard nationwide, as well as on Touch Tunes Jukeboxes in your local bars and clubs and on radio stations across the country, including our very own KDHX 88.1 FM in St. Louis.
There are currently two versions of this band available, a power TRIO and a five piece with sax and trumpet. The Jeremiah Johnson Trio is a sexy, chill version of the JJB. This version is more song orientated and of course more guitar driven. Tons of tone, bare to the bone!
Then there is Jeremiah Johnson with The Sliders. This is the trio with Jim Rosse on trumpet and Stuart Williams on sax, harmonica and flute. This is a power packed wall of sound that brings Jeremiahs original music to unexpected places. Providing a taste of everything from Honky Tonkin harmonica, old school blues shout choruses, amazing horn solos and even some flute. It is a unique show to say the least.
