Beekeeping 101 Bee inspired to learn about the fascinating world of honey bees and beekeeping. This workshop is for anyone with an appreciation of bees and interest in backyard beekeeping. You will be introduced to terms used in beekeeping, bee biology, and a brief history of beekeeping. The lifecycle of the queen bee, worker and drone will be reviewed, along with different hive types, tools and equipment. We will provide guidance on purchasing bees and maintaining healthy hives in more sustainable way.

Hive Inspection and Maintenance Jun. 17, 12-2pm Inspecting a hive. Carefully work with bees, tools and a smoker.
Honey Harvesting Sept. 16, 10am-12pm When to harvest from the hive. Honey tasting.
Products of the Hive for Health & Home Nov. 11, 10am-12pm Transform natural beeswax into lip balm, salve and hand/body creams.
