Carol Lipnik - the spellbinding, tragi-comic singer and songwriter acclaimed for her hauntingly beautiful multi-octave voice - called an "ethereal vocal phenomenon" by The New York Times - extends her unprecedented two year long Sunday Night Residency at Pangea beginning Sunday, January 15th, 2017.
Her new show "Goddess of Imperfection" is a dreamlike evening paying tribute to the broken, uncertain state of the world with a set of new original songs and specially-selected covers that reach above the chaos and reflect back on our tangled, beast-ridden planet.
Last spring Lipnik completed a three week engagement at Joe's Pub at the Public, for which she was hailed as a "One of New York's most inventive singers and performance artists" by The Village Voice. Lipnik, who blends folk music, operatic flourish and art song with the classic nightclub tradition, is joined music director Matt Kanelos on piano, backing vocals and found sounds. Her Sunday Night Pangea Residency is produced by TWEED TheaterWorks (Lypsinka) and DAX MGMT (Weimar New York, Joey Arias).
CAROL LIPNIK performs at PANGEA with Matt Kanelos on piano on Sunday evenings at 7:00 PM beginning January 15th, 2017. Doors open at 6:00 PM for dinner and cocktails. The venue is located at 178 Second Avenue, between 11th and 12th Streets in New York. Tickets are $15 in advance at PangeaNYC.com or $20 at the door, with an additional $15 food and beverage minimum. Seating at Pangea is communal. Other guests may be seated at the table. There is a $20 per person food or beverage minimum at the tables. DINNER SEATING BEGINS AT 6:00PM.
Please arrive one half hour prior to the show and allow additional time if you are planning to have a dinner.
Late arrivals will be seated at managements discretion.
