The Wiz

Are you ready to meet The Wizard? Then ease on down the road with the award-winning St. Mary's High School Theatre, as it presents the beloved Broadway gem "The Wiz"! Winner of 7 Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Original Score, "The Wiz" infuses L. Frank Baums tale "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" with a dazzling mix of rock, gospel, and soul music. This timeless tale of Dorothy's adventures through the Land of Oz is a fun, family-friendly, modern musical that The New York Post says radiates so much energy you can hardly sit in your seat! The musical is being directed by Kevin Costello, with musical direction by Josh Landin and choreography by Evelyn Barney and John Thiel. Technical direction and set design is by Brian Johnson, with costumes by Carol Wyrick, lighting by Craig Vincent and sound by Rich Matheson. All performances will be held at Stockton Civic Theatre, located at 2312 Rosemarie Lane in Stockton: Thursday, March 2 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, March 3 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday March 5 at 2:00 p.m.; Thursday, March 9 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, March 11 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, March 12 at 2:00 p.m. Patrons are advised to purchase tickets ahead of time.
