Square, Plumb & Level (SPL) is about crafting high-quality, vineyard designate wine focused on wine drinkers with experimental and discerning palates. We espouse the idea that bigger is not always better, highlighting varietals/vineyards and winemaking methods that evoke a sense of place, subtlety over capacity, bottle by bottle.

Von Strasser specializes in unique and single-vineyard wines, all grown within Napa Valley's tiny Diamond Mountain District appellation. Each wine reflects both the unique characteristics of its site (terroir), and Rudy's unique vision and winemaking philosophy. In the winery, Rudy blends both tradition and innovation together. Old world techniques such as extended maceration, French oak aging, and aerative racking are used in combination with modern equipment such as temperature controlled fermenters, state-of-the-art hand sorting systems and gentle handling equipment.
