Two Guitars & Two Friends
If you totaled all the years that J D Joyner and David Lewis have each been playing and performing you'd be bumping up against a century's worth of experience. However, their most enjoyable entertaining has occurred in the last decade. Along with many talented musicians they have been a part of J D's vision known as Guitars and Friends. The mutual respect and camaraderie among that talent bunch has resulted in a great variety show. In addition, J D and David both perform solo when not doing a G & F show and also team up as a duo for certain venues. You can count on this "unplugged" format being full of great music, stories, and laughter as J D and David interact in "Two Guitars and Two Friends." J D has recently finished a new CD of instrumental music entitled "Guitars and Friends" and it is his finest effort. His guitar work is extraordinary and he supplements his outstanding playing with a handful of other seasoned musicians including super picker David Jolley from Nashville, Tennessee. He sets the strings afire with his renditions of the classics "Spooky" and "House of the Rising Sun" as well as the spiritual "It Is Well" dedicated to a recently deceased friend. David's new cd of original songs entitled "Barbecue" will also be available soon. In concert you can expect to hear the title track along with the popular and humorous "Sweet Ice Tea" as well as the poignant "Memories" which is about dealing with friends and family who suffer from dementia or Alzheimer's Disease. As usual you can expect David to spin a yarn or two pulled from his beloved eastern North Carolina culture.
