White: a Memoir in Color with Director Joel Katz
Next Stage Arts Project is pleased to present a special screening of the brand new documentary film, White: A Memoir in Color, on Thursday, November 1 at 7:00pm at Next Stage in Putney, Vermont. The film will be introduced and followed by a discussion with producer, director and editor Joel Katz who returns to Next Stage for this event.
This very personal film explores issues of race, adoption, family and what it means to be white in America through the story of Katz's own family across generations. His father's role as a white professor at Howard University, a traditionally black college, during the civil rights era comes to bear on decisions Katz and his wife later make about adoption and starting their own family.
