35th Irish Evening of Music & Poetry
Author of "Let the Great World Spin" Colum McCann will read and talk about his work followed by a concert of traditional Irish music by Narrowbacks.
Born in Dublin, Ireland, McCann has written 5 novels and 2 short-story collections. Awards include the International Impac Award 2011, 2009 National Book Award and numerous international awards. His most recent novel, "Let the Great World Spin" was a best-seller on four continents. A concert of traditional Irish music by Narrowbacks will follow. The band will play a full range of Irish reels, jigs, hornpipes, polkas, slides and slow airs. Musicians Jesse and Terence Patrick Winch, Linda Hickman and Eileen Korn Estes will also sing a variety of songs, including original compositions. Dancers from the Culkin School will perform as well.
