The Yale Slavic Chorus
Perfect for March's INTERNATIONAL WOMENS HISTORY MONTH, The Yale Slavic Chorus is a performance group comprised of young women from a variety of cultural and academic backgrounds who share a common passion for Slavic music. The Chorus sings a diverse repertoire that spans the traditions of Bulgaria, Russia, Ukraine, and Georgia among other regions. Although many members of The Yale Slavic Chorus are not native speakers of Slavic languages, the Chorus works extensively with native folk musicians and vocalists to perfect accurate pronunciation and vocal style. www.yaleslavicchorus.com
Although primarily an undergraduate group, the Slavs, as they are affectionately known around the campus of Yale University also include other members of the Yale community. The Yale Slavic Chorus has always been dedicated to maintaining musical vigor and excellence as they seek to empower women through song.
