INTERNATIONAL HISPANIC PLAYWRITING CONTEST 2016.
CONCURSO INTERNACIONAL DE DRAMATURGIA HISPANA 2016 LECTURA DRAMATIZADA. BRUTALITY DE GUSTAVO OTT
The Hispanic Playwriting Competition of Chicago was founded in 2014 by Aguijón Theater in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes of Chicago. The main goal of this international biennial competition is to increase the opportunities available to and promote the contemporary stage works of Hispanic authors. In this second edition, 179 plays were submitted by writers from Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Cuba, Spain, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay, the United States and Venezuela. Venezuelan writer Gustavo Ott was awarded first prize of the 2016 International Hispanic Playwriting Contest for his work Brutality. Mr. Ott is a playwright, fiction writer and journalist whose works have received various national and international awards and have been translated into English, Portuguese, German, French, Danish, Greek, Russian, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Japanese, Galician, Catalan and Creole.
