Join R.D. King and Jenee Halstead for an unforgettable night of music at the Rockwell on April 27. R.D. King is releasing his debut album "vs. Self," an exploration of instrumental acoustic guitar music full of bold and inspiring ideas. Written over the course of several years, these nine tracks span the gambit from frenzied marches to impassioned ballads. Jenee Halstead will be featuring a rare solo set. Well-known for her full-band performances, Halstead is an award-winning singer songwriter known for her compelling voice and wonderfully evocative lyrical imagery. R.D. King is a Boston-based human, composer, and acoustic guitar extraordinare. Through composing and performing, King explores life, consciousness, and meaning, grappling with questions of individual and shared experience. Listening to Kings music is an emotional and introspective journey that is difficult to parse into genre or tradition. Kings audiences describe his music as passionate, powerful, deeply memorable, andat timesextraordinary.
