Ocean Artistry Art Quilt Show Yachats Oregon

Polly Plumb Productions and the City of Yachats, Oregon, present the inaugural Ocean Artistry Art Quilt Show, which will be held at the Yachats Commons on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 10, 11, 12.
"Gems of the Ocean" is a juried show that will be comprised of art pieces from local, regional and international art quilters. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. all three days. The Yachats Commons is located at 441 Highway 101 N and the suggested donation for the event is $5.

One of the goals of the show is to introduce art quilting to local residents as well as visitors to the area," said Polly Plumb Productions Board member Ruth Bass. We thought the ocean theme would allow artists to explore the beauty of this area and make interpretations based on their own whimsy. Art quilts do not typically follow the patterns used in traditional quilting. Instead, artists use fabric and other materials to build conceptual creations based on a theme, design or simply the artists imagination.
