Rollerbillies Pre-Mins Bootacmp
You've been skating for a little while now and you've mastered the basics of stopping and falling. You've begun to notice that comforting derby smell starting to saturate your pads and you're pretty clear that it's infinitely better to fall forwards than backwards. You're inching towards achieving your minimum skills but you just need that extra push to get those last few pesky skills up to scratch. If this sounds like you, we've got the perfect bootcamp lined up.
For the price of £30 we'll welcome you into the Rollerbillies clan for 2 x 1.5 hour on-skates sessions and 1 hour of off-skates tuition. We'll run through all of the areas that commonly trip people up as they learn to skate with more intensity and finish the day with a spot of competitive shoe derby and a long, relaxing stretch to take care of those derby aches. We'll be done and dusted by 5pm.
Venue The bootcamp is scheduled to take place at Kelsey Kerridge Sports Centre in central Cambridge on Saturday 11th March. Registration from 11:00-11:30, warm-up begins at 11:30.
Kelsey Kerridge Sports Centre Queen Anne Terrace East Rd Cambridge CB1 1NA
Travel The sports centre is located next door to the Queen Anne multi storey car park (https://www.cambridge.gov.uk/queen-anne-terrace-car-park). Cambridge railway station is a 15-minute walk from Kelsey Kerridge and there are multiple park and ride sites located on the outskirts of the city.
Who can attend? The only prerequisite is that you must be able to stop and fall safely. Whether you're just beginning your minimum skills journey or have recently passed there should be plenty of knowledge to absorb and skills to polish. We welcome skaters of all genders to attend this bootcamp. At the point of booking, you'll be asked to let us know if you would rather not skate in a mixed gender group so be sure to let us know. If our coaches feel that any skater is unsafe at any point during the day, they will be asked to sit out. In this instance the skater is welcome to remain in the session on an off-skates observational basis.
Our bountiful merch stall will be in attendance so there will be an opportunity to buy all of our green and leopardy items if you wish. We really hope to see you in Cambridge soon!
