Seth KIbel plays the Casa Phoenix Feb 26 at 6:30
Seth Kibel, a mid-Atlantic star on sax, clarinet, and flute, will play with pianist Sean Lane and Bob Abbott on double bass.
Doors open at 6:30 for vegetarian dinner for all, plus mulled wine and any other drinks you'd like to bring. Music starts at 7:30.
Seth is a featured player with The Alexandria Kleztet, Bay Jazz Project, Music Pilgrim Trio, among others. He has won a whopping 28 Washington Area Music Awards (Wammies).
Sean Lane has been described as "a pianist of remarkable lyricism and sensitivity," "a gifted composer", and he and his band have been nominated "Best Jazz Duo-Group" multiple times by the Wammies.
Bob Abbott plays the double bass with bands including the Alexandria Kleztet and Bay Jazz Project, and has performed at the Kennedy Center and Blues Alley among other nearby spots.
Seth's latest recording, No Words: Instrumental Jazz & Klezmer by Seth Kibel, includes his original composition "New Waltz," which just received the Grand Prize in the 2017 Mid-Atlantic Song Contest sponsored by the Songwriter's Association of Washington (SAW).
