Oriental Bliss Productions is proud to bring you this extraordinary gala including diverse dance performances such as Raq Sharqi, Turkish Oriental, Persian, Middle Eastern, Near-East and Asian folk Dances!
In the Western perception, Time progresses from an ambiguous past, to a fleeting present, towards an endless future. For "Zamani World Dance Gala Show 2017," let us pause and consider a different perspective of Time. 'Zamani' and 'Sasa' are Swahili words first borrowed in English by Dr. John S. Mbiti, in 1969, to explain the African perception of Time. The rhythm of Time is oriented towards Zamani. Sasa consists of the recent past, present, and naturally assured near future. Phenomena performed in Sasa recede into Zamani. Zamani is the endless collection of the past and the foundation for Sasa. Sasa constantly overlaps with Zamani as the flowing waves constantly ebb back to the ocean. Regardless of how time is perceived, it is universally wise to look towards the past for guidance.
